about me
I am a Master’s level Marriage and Family Therapist, trained in clinical counseling psychology and licensed in the state of California. I am in private practice and work with couples and individuals. My understanding and practice draws on psychodynamic and psychoanalytic theory.
Psychodynamic therapy is a way of looking at the psyche in terms of depth: your relationship to self and other in conscious and unconscious ways. An assumption in my work is that becoming more conscious contributes to living life fully, but that consciousness has its own time-frame that needs to be respected. Another assumption is that the answers lie within you, not with an authority or expert.
I have been licensed for twenty years and participate in ongoing trainings and consultation. It is important to me to continue to learn and grow as a therapist and to stay current with development and understanding in the field of psychotherapy.
- Education: I received my M.A. in Counseling Psychology from the Institute of Imaginal Studies in Petaluma, California.
- License: MFC 41113 by the Board of Behavioral Sciences, State of California.
